Miranda IM has an amazingly small footprint for an instant messenger tool for multiple protocols. It is a Windows client and is also amazingly fast. You do not need to install it and you can pop it onto a disc or stick. It contains a plugin feature that is amazingly powerful giving Miranda IM amazing flexibility. It debuts with only the basic features that you need to begin, but it has nearly 400 plugins, a set that keeps growing, and all of the plugins are free. On the multiple protocols, Miranda IM sports are rather full list: AIM (AOL Instant Messenger), Gadu-Gadu, IAX (Inter-Asterisk Exchange), ICQ, IRC (Internet Relay Chat), Jabber, MSN, Netsend, Tlen, Yahoo, and many more.
