Publisher description for Fraps 3.4.6
FRAPS is a benchmarking tool, a screen capture tool, and a real-time video capture tool, all wrapped up in a single tool suite. Used with Windows FRAPS is used especially with DirectX or OpenGL software by gamers, to record action and take specific screen shots. FRAPS is noted for supporting DirectX 10 and Vista games and applications. Because Vista’s Desktop Window Manager integrates with DirectX 10 you can use the record and screen shot features and do what the 3D apps and games can. Using the real-time video capture feature you can directly record your screen action as a streaming video along with the audio. You do not need any other peripheral (cam, recorder, other software, other tool), you can start recording and stop your recording with a click. You capture up to 100 frames each second. You get up to 1152 x 864 resolution – that is excellent quality; compares to movie resolution. The screen capture tool gives you the same ability and quality and resolutions for when you take a snapshot of your screen. Includes the ability to timestamp and annotate. When you want to check the stats of your throughput while you are gaming, or running an application, you can employ the benchmarking tool. It lets you check the number of frames being processed each second (FPS). You can have this set and display in a corner of your screen.
